Tillotama Shome

Tillotama Shome is a 2004 Inlaks Scholar who pursued an MA in Educational Theatre at the Steinhardt School of Education, USA.

Pratap Bose

Pratap Bose is a 2001 Inlaks Scholar who attended the Royal College of Art to pursue an MA in Vehicle Design.

Vena Kapoor

Vena Kapoor, a 2010 Inlaks Ravi Sankaran Scholar, is currently a freelance consultant and founder of Nature Classrooms.

Dr. Joyeeta Gupta

Dr. Joyeeta Gupta is a 1987 Inlaks Scholar who studied Law at Harvard University. She was recently awarded the Spinoza Prize, the highest award in Dutch academia.

The Inlaks Residency at Gasworks, London

In partnership with The Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation and Charles Wallace India Trust, Gasworks offer a fully-funded residency in London for an artist based in India.

Our Story

Indoo Shivdasani

Indoo Shivdasani (1918–1979), a successful entrepreneur, credited his Cambridge education with broadening his commercial and cultural horizons. He had a strong desire to give others a similar opportunity. A firm believer in the importance of overseas higher education for young Indians. He saw this as a way to foster their talent and develop their capacity to contribute to society.

As is the City of Joy, so are the Inlaks alumni there - warm and joyful. Right from 1978 up to 2025, a dozen alumni and current awardees got together on 30th January, 2025 over an intimate dinner in Kolkata and shared their fascinating stories and journeys since their association with the Foundation.
