WAA endeavors to make working spaces accessible to artists within Mumbai (Bandra), and offer mentoring support, facilitate production and an immediate access to the Art network.
The residency is in the heart of Bandra, a lively neighborhood of Mumbai, walking distance from many restaurants, pubs, and high street stores. Bandra has a long seafront with promenades, and its traditional Goan-style colonial architecture is preserved well. It’s a neighborhood flourishing with artists, actors and creative minds.
They offer two artists studios above their office, as well as a comfortable shared flat with 2 bedrooms. The flat is a 5-minute walk from the studios and the WAA office.
They also run a Project Space in their office premise. Their focus is on video art, with artists’ talks and art events.
They are located in the same building as The Bandra Base, a "culture club" in Bombay that supports music, dance, theatre, film. A music venue on the ground floor hosts regular concerts and performances, and dance and yoga workshops are held on the roof-top.
