Since 1976, over 1300 talented young Indians have received, Scholarships, Awards, Fellowships, Art Residencies, Internships, and Grants across a wide range of subjects and endeavours, overseas and in India.

Our alumni reflect the diversity of individuals that we have supported over four decades. Today, many are leaders in their chosen fields.

Tillotama Shome is a 2004 Inlaks Scholar who pursued an MA in Educational Theatre at the Steinhardt School of Education, USA.

Dr. Joyeeta Gupta is a 1987 Inlaks Scholar who studied Law at Harvard University. She was recently awarded the Spinoza Prize, the highest award in Dutch academia.

Our Story

Indoo Shivdasani

Indoo Shivdasani (1918–1979), a successful entrepreneur, credited his Cambridge education with broadening his commercial and cultural horizons. He had a strong desire to give others a similar opportunity. A firm believer in the importance of overseas higher education for young Indians. He saw this as a way to foster their talent and develop their capacity to contribute to society.
