Support at Art Events

The Foundation has historically supported various artists at national and international art events.

Dhaka Art Summit, 2016

The Critical Writing Ensemble at the Dhaka Art Summit comprised four days of presentations by around 15–20 art writers and researchers from South Asia as well as from other parts of the world.

The Foundation, in 2016, supported the participation of two art writers from India, Nida Ghouse and Roslyn D’Mello, at this event. In 2018, the Foundation supported the participation of Sabih Ahmed, Garima Gupta and Himali Singh Soin. Deskit Angmo and Tanya Goel were supported at the 2020 edition of the summit.

The Venice Biennale, 2015

The Foundation extended support towards the project Coronation Park, presented by RAQs Media Collective at the Venice Biennale in 2015. The project placed nine large sculptures and plinths at key vantage points in Giardini, in Venice.

Mumbai Gallery Weekend, 2013

In 2013, the 9 Galleries Association, a group of Mumbai- based galleries, mounted the second edition of Mumbai Gallery Weekend at the Taj Lands End Hotel, Bandra, Mumbai. The purpose of the event was knowledge sharing in the form of eight tightly- curated sessions. The select audience of 90 people comprised curators, critics, artists and collectors who were hosted in a state-of-the-art venue entitled The Classroom, which was run by the Harvard Business School inside the Taj Hotel.

The guide for the weekend was renowned author, TV personality and artist Matthew Collings, responsible for the groundbreaking book and television series, This is Modern Art. In addition to the learning sessions, guests were encouraged to engage collectively during the weekend over teas, dinners and cocktails.

Shanghai Biennale, 2012

The Foundation supported the participation of Hemali Bhuta at this event in 2012.
