The Inlaks-Ravi Sankaran Grant for Field Biology, Ecology & Conservation 2025

We are delighted to welcome the recipients of the 2025 Inlaks-Ravi Sankaran Grant for Field Biology, Ecology & Conservation.

Iptishamun Nesha

Iptishamun's project focuses on creating a comprehensive inventory of odonates (a type of predatory insect) in Chilika Lagoon, Odisha, which will help develop a robust metric to monitor its health. The project will enable her to integrate odonates into existing wetland education programs.

Priyank Patil

Priyank will be working on a project to address the urgent knowledge gaps surrounding the Bottlenose Guitarfish, a Critically Endangered and Schedule I protected species in India.

Srinidhi Himani

Srinidhi's project aims to help empower traditional fisherfolk communities through a platform to share their knowledge and concerns. It also aims to help make marine science more accessible, leading to informed decisions and sustainable seafood choices.

Himangshu Kalita

Himanshu's project explores how gender, livelihood, and identity shape people’s perceptions and responses to wildlife presence in forest-fringe villages, focusing on the Bodo and Adivasi communities near Manas National Park. He hopes to develop a blueprint for conservation that places community experience, gender equity, and ecological sustainability at its core.

Angeline Mano M

Angeline’s project focuses on the ‘Vulnerable’ White-naped Tit Machlolophus nuchalis which is endemic to India, with one of its disjunct populations found in parts of southern India, including the dry deciduous forests of Salem district, Tamil Nadu.
